Inspired by both brands’ New York to London routes, the NY-LON Lounge Bar aims to encapsulate the hospitality offered on a long-haul flight. Virgin Atlantic and Delta have partnered with Manchester-based design agency Love to create the 6,000 square-foot space.
NY-LON will be managed by Levy Restaurants UK, the sports, leisure and hospitality business of Compass Group. The menu promises US and British cuisine, as well as aviation-inspired cocktails.
The new space is situated in the entertainment district of The O2. It will target event planners looking for less formal meeting spaces and can be used for corporate entertaining, social events and parties. The lounge has a capacity of 300, while a private space is also available to hire for smaller events.
Reuben Arnold, senior vice president of marketing and customer experience at Virgin Atlantic, said: "We’ve created NY-LON as a celebration of our trans-Atlantic network. Our lounge bar will offer customers a brand new experience at The O2 that showcases our airlines’ world-class service."
Tim Mapes, Delta’s senior vice president of marketing, added: "The iconic cities of New York and London are at the heart of everything we do. Opening NY-LON is the next exciting step in our partnership and we look forward to helping travellers enjoy the Delta-Virgin Atlantic brand of hospitality for which we’re famous when they next visit The O2."
