This year's prize, announced live on the BBC News channel, was presented by the Duchess of Cornwall to 28-year-old New Zealand author Eleanor Catton, the youngest winner of the £50,000 Man Booker Prize for her novel The Luminaries.

Caterer Moving Venue provided a champagne and canapé reception and dinner for attendees. The three-course meal consisted of pea and mint tortelloni, daube of beef and a pear and chocolate teardrop.

Lisa Perkins, event manager at Four Colman Getty, said: "Tuesday night’s event was a huge success, and we’re absolutely thrilled with how the evening progressed. I am delighted with the results of our partnership with Moving Venue - they really were fantastic and couldn’t have asked for more support from them not only in the lead up but on the evening.

"All suppliers from the Guildhall to AV company Blitz and Carly Rogers Flowers were brilliant throughout and came together really well on the night."

Dan Johnson-Allen, catering director at Moving Venue, added: "The Man Booker Prize is a high profile and hugely popular event with a prestigious audience, including members of the royal family.

"We relished, as always, the challenge to provide a well-balanced fine dining experience for large guest numbers, working to the BBC live broadcast of this year’s winner. It was a great event to be involved in and a thoroughly enjoyable evening, which our 100-strong team delivered with style and perfect timing."
