The evening was hosted by Daniel Clifford, chef patron from the two Michelin starred Midsummer House, and Kudos’s creative director. Along with his team, Clifford transformed the venue’s Long Room for the Midsummer in the City event.
Guests were greeted by traditionally dressed pikemen and mustekeers as they arrived for a champagne reception. Diane Waldron, head of marketing and events at the HAC gave a short welcome speech and handed over to Charles Beer, managing partner at the Crown Group, who gave a short presentation before attendees enjoyed a five-course meal.
The menu consisted of amuse bouche – Jerusalem artichoke, pickled eggs, fresh truffle. The starter was ravioli of quail and foie gras, burnt onion puree, with onion consommé poured at the table.
A fish dish included a slow cooked salmon, white chocolate and caviar, cauliflower and almond puree. This was followed by a main of roast fillet of pork, confit pork belly, turnip apple and sage. Dessert consisted of milk chocolate, hazelnut praline, English pears.
Jon Pryce, managing director for Kudos, said: "We have all had the most amazing experience. I would like to thank Daniel and his team for delivering a truly memorable evening."
