The networking evening, hosted at the home of Stella McCartney's business, begun with a champagne and canapé reception, with food provided by Purple Grape.

Canapés included saffron-stained quail eggs served with a celery salt dip?; seared tuna with wasabi and tobiko; and a ?crispy cone filled with a salad of crab and spiced tomato jelly.

Bowl food consisted of a beetroot risotto topped with parmesan flakes and cress; plum-glazed salmon with oriental string vegetables and seaweed; and a griddled peach and mozzarella salad with air-dried parma ham. A mini lemon meringue pie was served as a dessert.

ISES UK president Jane Hague presented the evening, which begun with a short presentation for caterer Smart Hospitality regarding the company’s international ISES award win as part of the association’s ISES Live event in the Bahamas in August.

Paul Vesper, Richard Gee and Robin Bidgood from Smart Hospitality took to the stage and were awarded the Best Catered Event award as part of the evening’s proceedings.

Amy Gibson, director of events at the Louise Blouin Foundation, discussed the history of the building as well as a number of events which have been hosted at the venue including the Portobello Film Festival.

Darla Jane Gilroy, director of The Future Perfect, provided an insight into her career and business, talking about her work with brands such as Magnum ice cream and Levi’s 501, while answering questions from the audience.

When asked about her thoughts on trends for events in the future, Gilroy said: "I am a very anti-online person, so I think that looking to the future people my want real, tangible things. And they might not want them amplified on YouTube. That's something I think we will be looking a lot at in the future, something created in a grassroots but real way."

Following the presentation, ISES hosted a fashion catwalk show, while Sound Lighting Rental gave a short display of its latest laser product to round off the event.
