In pictures: Inside the immersive Crystal Maze experience

The Crystal Maze, the immersive re-creation of the 1990s television show, will open to the public next Tuesday (15 March).

The experience is located in Angel in London, in a space that its creative director Tom Lionetti-Maguire told Event was difficult to secure due to The Crystal Maze’s size.

Guided by a Maze Master, guests will take on the Aztec, Medieval, Industrial and Futuristic zones before they enter the famous Crystal Dome for the finale. The maze will comprise games from the original TV series, as well as some new surprises.

Sparkling wine brand Freixenet is sponsoring the event. Golden Freixenet tokens have been dotted around the rooms and contestants are encouraged to seek to them out to win a glass of Freixenet Cordon Negro.

The brand has also developed two cocktails for the event - the Freixenet Industrial and the Freixenet Futuristic.

Four agencies have worked on the experience’s production -  MDM, Artem, Helix and Cutting Edge. The Crystal Maze was borne out of an initial crowdfunding campaign and includes a hologram of the .
