Little Lion Entertainment has revealed itself as the company behind the concept, which will see .
While no date has been set, the organisers aim to open the activation in late 2015. Tickets will initially be put on sale for the first three months.
The group is aiming to raise £500,000 to produce the event within 35 days. However, after the campaign went live yesterday (14 June) on Indiegogo, 40% of the total has already been funded following high-level media interest last week.
Those that pledge will be offered the first tickets to the show. A range of entry options will be available, including tickets to the opening party, early bird access, a 'red carpet' experience and the option to hire the maze all day, which is priced at £10,000.
Guests will be able to play the maze just as the contestants did in the 1990s TV programme. O'Brien will welcome groups of eight into the Aztec, Medieval, Industrial and Futuristic zones, as well as The Crystal Dome.
Little Lion Entertainment is formed of immersive theatre specialist Tom Lionetti-Maguire; producer Ben Hodges, who has previously worked with Secret Cinema; creator and director of immersive experiences Heist and Time Run, Dean Rodgers; and Malcolm Heyworth, original producer and creator of The Crystal Maze, who comes on board as creative consultant.
