The new group of investors at Captive Minds is led by Bob Wigley, previously EMEA chairman at Merrill Lynch, city investor James Gallon and entrepreneur Dominic McVey, with all three investing in the agency. An advisory board will support the main board's activities and is being chaired by event promoter Harvey Goldsmith.

Captive Minds runs content campaigns in specific subject areas of adventure, style, sport and social good. Last year, it organised a on behalf of Glenfiddich for the Walking With The Wounded South Pole Allied Challenge's UK team. The agency's expansion is already underway with the integration of another company, Unsigned Group.

Julian Staveley, client services director at Captive Minds, said: "The aim of this event is to solidify our position in the market place as a branded content agency, highlighting what our four core pillars of strength bring to campaigns, as well as unveiling our new investors."

The party, which took place last night (10 September) at One Marylebone, was hosted by Olympic torcher bearer Mark Foster and mountaineer Kenton Cool, who has scaled Mount Everest 11 times, and featured a DJ set from Fin Munro, the son of Gary Kemp and Sadie Frost.

Around 140 guests, drawn from the agency's clients and suppliers, entered the venue and stepped across a hologram floor into the main event space, which was dominated by four pillars displaying a series of changing images, each one representing the four core areas of the agency.

Following presentations on the agency's expansion plans and an introdution to the new investors, guests enjoyed a range of cocktails, including Whisky Sours, Mojitos, Strawberry Collins and Velvet Mai Tais, from two cocktail bars managed by mixologist Tony Adams, the 2008 World Bartender Champion and the cocktail expert for ITV's This Morning show.

Catering was provided by Bubble Food, with guests feasting on a range of canapés including wild mushroom ravioli with moss crumble, lobster mini burgers with a piquillo rouille, miso marinated pork belly and spicy wasabi toffee, chilled fish and chips with tartar foam and rhubarb in a tube and almond biscuit.

The evening included a live performance from band Coffee Pot Drive.
