The event was held at the Ballroom of the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park Hotel in London. Bespoke redesigned the space to highlight the young but high-class vibe of the E! Entertainment show.
After walking down the red carpet, guests were greeted in the entrance hall with a five foot-tall 3D crown made entirely from flowers and created by In Water. They then ascended the stairs into a breakout room flanked with ceiling-tall gilded portraits of The Royals’ main characters.
The main function space featured a number of plasma TVs showing clips of the new programme, a photobooth and a set up of ‘Champagne pong’ – an upper-class version of the popular frat party beer game. A main bar served up cocktails and canapés provided by the Mandarin’s in-house catering team, while a main stage at the front of the room housed a DJ booth and a three metre Union Jack constructed of flowers.
Hurley’s entrance was announced by a group of trumpeters playing a fan fair and a number of ballerinas dressed in black performing a pole dance routine. DJ duo Le Bon Tong then took to the decks. Guests that preferred to relax over dancing could sit in gold gilded chaise lounges provided by Great Hire.
