The first of three events kicked off in London's South Bank on Wednesday (5 March), with the Routemaster stationed at Canary Wharf yesterday and remaining there until today (7 March). It will be showcasing the resort's upgraded facilities and offering samples from its menu.
At the South Bank event, guests were treated to a relaxing head and shoulders massage and had the opportunity to perfect their golf swing on a simulator, while a screen on the Routemaster showcased the Belfry's new offering.
Cocktails, champagne and wine were served, while guests sampled a range of savoury and sweet canapés, including ham hock terrine and apple chutney; smoked salmon millefeuille on pumpernickel; black pudding with fried quail's egg; guacamole with creme fraiche; lime macaroons; opera cake; and mango meringues.
The food was prepared by award-winning chef Glen Watson, chef director at the Belfry, who joined the resort in August.
Refurbishments at the Belfry include upgrades to all 319 bedrooms and 14 suites, as well as all 21 events suites and six boardrooms being fully updated, with the Woodlands suite available to seat 400 theatre-style or 300 for a banquet.
Lynn Hood, managing director at The Belfry, said: "We want to engage with the London market, which is one of our biggest, and show them what the Belfry has to offer in terms of its upgraded accommodation and its food offering."
