Representatives from The Royal College of Nursing, F2F Events and Centaur took part in the networking event, which also included a small exhibition of 20 city partners including PJ Chauffeurs, Liverpool Cathedral and the Malmaison Liverpool hotel.

Production was provided by ACC Liverpool's in-house technical team, which brought the theme ‘the art of events’ to life with a photo gallery area, projections, presentations and lighting.

Kerrin MacPhie, director of sales at ACC Liverpool, gave a speech about the venue’s progress over the last year, as well as updates about the new Exhibition Centre Liverpool, a 8,100 square-metre space set to open next spring.

She explained that close to £2.5m had been invested in the Echo Arena during the last 12 months, including updates to backstage areas for events, as well as new organiser offices being introduced. Twelve of the 22 VIP hospitality boxes have also been updated with the same style.

Acclaim Food provided the catering for the event, which included a number of canapés such as spiced chicken and ginger dumplings, red mullet with watermelon and black olive crumble and blood orange camembert cheesecake.

Bowl food consisted of braised beef with oxtail marmalade and potato puree, fish and chips and tempura halloumi with sauté potatoes and preserved lemon.
