Peugeot backs 308 launch with CMW mailer

LONDON - Peugeot is to roll out a Clark McKay and Walpole-devised mailing campaign to support the UK launch of its 308 range, which will aim to give recipients a driver's eye view of the model.

The campaign, which will run in conjunction with TV spots from the end of the month, has the strapline "Inspired by nature, driven with pleasure", and features a 10-page booklet detailing the Peugeot 308's cabin and interior details.

The mailing also contains an overlay of transparent paper highlighting the car's features, which include an airbag, pollen filters, noise insulation and soft touch upholstery. It displays detailed interior shots alongside images of the countryside, designed to highlight the Peugeot 308's green credentials.

In addition to the interior pictures, the mailing includes a letter inviting customers for a test drive, and web details to find out more about the 308 model.

Peugeot said the CMW-devised campaign, which will target 56,000 customers who have already shown interest in the car, would aim to continue the TV spot's central theme that customer's would find their "natural place" driving the 308.

Martin Nieri, managing director at CMW, said: "The 308 has been designed with the motorist's comfort in mind and our direct marketing approach has been developed to put the recipient at the heart of the 308 experience.

"It's a compelling campaign and we have reinforced the 'inspired by nature' positioning via our innovative use of images from the world of nature."
