During ITV's company-wide 90-day consultation period, Iacono's role was no longer deemed viable and he will not be directly replaced. A company spokesman confirmed he has left ITV.

This is the second position within ITV's global entertainment unit that has been removed during the consultation period. Last week, ITV Global Entertainment's commercial brands director, Gustavo Antonioni, left the company taking voluntary redundancy.

Iacono joined ITV in January 2008 following a 14-year stint at Sony Pictures Entertainment, where he was acting president of production. He was hired by Dawn Airey, then director of content at ITV, before she left to head rival commercial broadcaster Five.

Iacono reported directly to Lee Bartlett, managing director of Global Content. His direct reports will now report directly to Bartlett. They are: Tobi de Graff, director Global TV Distribution, Emmanuelle Namiech, director acquisitions and co-productions, Steve Gallant, director home entertainment and digital, and Aysha Kidwai, director international merchandise and licensing.
