Sony international chief to lead ITV content export bid

LONDON - Peter Iacono has been appointed as president and a managing director of ITV Worldwide.


Former Sony executive Iacono will be responsible for overseeing the growth of ITV Global Content’s worldwide sales, distribution, merchandising, publishing and licensing activity.

He will lead ITV’s effort to better exploit the value of its self-produced content, by licensing ITV content to overseas broadcasters, online video services and via home entertainment distribution.

Iacono joins from Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group, where he served as acting president, international features. Prior to that, he worked at Sony Pictures Television International for 13 years, becoming executive vice-president, distribution. Before that he was a manager in the strategic planning team at Warner Bros.

Last September, ITV outlined plans for its Global Content division to double its revenues within five years. It also made around £200m available for the acquisition of complementary production businesses worldwide.
