The "See a Star Be a Star" promotion will be featured on 20m cans and bottles of Pepsi, and will be backed up with an advertising campaign featuring Britney singing 'The Joy of Pepsi' song.
Users visiting the pepsichart.co.uk website will be able to enter unique barcodes to claim prizes, ranging from screensavers and exclusive tracks to the chance to spend a day in a recording studio with Gareth Gates or spend a weekend living like Britney.
The television advertising, first shown in the US last year, was created by BBDO New York, with media buying by Mindshare.
Britvic, which distributes Pepsi in the UK, signed Pop Idol-runner up Gareth Gates in a deal worth an estimated 拢750,000 in March this year.
It has a long-running association with Britney Spears, who earlier this year appeared in a US ad for the soft drink billed as "the most expensive ever made".
