PAA wins £3m Greenbee task

The John Lewis Partnership has appointed Partners Andrews Aldridge to handle the £3 million direct marketing account for Greenbee, its online direct sales arm.

The agency won a three-way pitch against WFCA and MBA. The pitch was managed by Haystack.

Clark McKay & Walpole, the incumbent on the account, which launched the service last autumn, did not repitch for the business.

Partners has been asked to come up with a direct marketing campaign to boost brand awareness and sales.

Greenbee was designed to extend JLP's offering into products that are not sold in its stores, including financial services, travel, insurance and entertainment. Among the first brands to become involved were Axa and Expedia.

The review was overseen by Rick Jones, Greenbee's head of marketing. He said: "We hired Partners Andrews Aldridge for its strength in brand understanding and customer insight."

Steve Aldridge, the Partners Andrews Aldridge creative partner and chairman, said: "We are looking forward to supporting the company as it enters the next stage of its development, raising awareness with potential customers and delivering real results."
