Orange will not replace Wheeler in music role

Orange will not appoint a new head of music and film partnerships at present, after losing Richard Wheeler to Virgin Media.

Orange will not replace Wheeler in music role

Orange said Wheeler's responsibilities would be shared across other product and marketing teams.

He led Orange's content partnerships, personalisation and acquisition activity as well as negotiating contracts, both locally and globally, with UK music providers, record labels, artists, film studios and distributors.

Virgin Media appointed Wheeler as head of music, a newly-created role to develop Virgin Media's music strategy and design new services to consumers, across mobile, TV and online.

Prior to Orange, Wheeler spent five years at Sanctuary Music Group where he was vice president of digital business development.
