Orange signs deal with OK! Magazine for Celebrity Zone

LONDON - Orange has announced the launch of its Celebrity Zone, a star-focused channel now live on its Orange World mobile portal.

Orange Celebrity Zone features picture galleries for browsing and downloads, discussion boards and news stories. The Orange Celebrity Zone can be accessed via Orange World, the Orange Wap portal, through an Orange handset.

Orange has formed long-term commercial relationships with the Daily Star and OK! Magazine, and the channel's content will focus on major British events and premieres.

This includes live commentary and images from ceremonies such as The Brits and National TV Awards, with interactive opportunities to vote on fashion hits or misses of A-lists. Visitors will have the chance to enter competitions with prizes including the chance to live like a celebrity for the day.

Mark Hird, director of multimedia at Orange UK, said: "The Orange Celebrity Zone is a star-studded, action-packed channel on Orange World. Following Orange's recent must-see coverage of the Oscars, one of the Zone's major features will be a spotlight on national events and awards, which is certain to be a mobile crowd puller."

The inspiration for the new channel follows the interest in celebrities in the context of reality TV programmes and will target the younger market.
