Tell us about the latest event you’re working on
I am currently working on producing the 2015 Event Awards, widely known as the ‘Oscars’ of the live event industry. Each year, we have more than 700 of the UK’s movers and shakers in the live events industry in attendance. So there’s no pressure at all in putting together an event like this – for events professionals!
We are especially excited this year about our new venue, the Eventim Apollo. after partnering with Stage Electrics to build a bespoke two-tiered floor to transform the space from rock hall to ballroom.
What can guests expect on the night?
As usual, we’ll be having a bit of fun with the Event Awards, and have worked with graphics house First Image to create live-action graphics reflecting rock 'n' roll iconography through the ages. We’re hoping guests will have some fun with the theme as well, and break out their leather trousers and Hammer pants.
Helping bring the rock ‘n’ roll vision to the stage, our set designers Kew Workshop have collaborated with First Image and Media Powerhouse to create a multi-dimensional mapped set which will bring the awards to life.
What else can you tell us?
Of course it’s not all about the production. Our guests can also look forward to a bespoke menu created by Zafferano. I’m particularly excited about the pudding. The whole evening will be hosted by a secret (incredibly attractive) celebrity provided by JLA and additional entertainment will be provided by Sternberg Clarke and Phototheatre.
The Event Awards are known for being a great night, but I’m especially proud of this year’s event. There are some really unique elements that will keep the audience on their toes from start to finish.
