Octagon to handle marketing for Fox Kids Cup 2003

LONDON - Children's television station Fox Kids Europe has hired the Interpublic agency Octagon to handle the marketing for its football tournament the Fox Kids Cup.

The Fox Kids Cup is a six-a-side tournament for boys and girls under the age of 13. The 2003 international final will be held in Rotterdam, in the Netherlands, at the ground of the football team Feyenoord.

Fox Kids Europe expects that the 2003 event will be the biggest in its four-year history, with 200,000 participants in countries from Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and the US. Octagon will help to attract sponsors for the event.

Shari Donnenfeld, executive director of research and marketing at Fox Kids Europe, said: "The combination of the state-of-the-art football facility at Feyenoord and the expertise of the world's premier sports marketing agency Octagon will ensure that the Fox Kids Cup 2003 is a memorable event for our global audience and associated partners."

Octagon has worked on other major sporting events including Beijing's successful bid to be the host city for the 2008 Olympic games.
