Norwich & Peterborough hands account to Hicklin Slade

LONDON - Norwich & Peterborough Building Society has appointed Hicklin Slade to handle its combined above- and below-the-line work after a four-way pitch through the AAR.

Hicklin Slade will be responsible for a fully integrated programme of consumer marketing activity across direct and digital marketing, direct response advertising and all in-branch collateral. Work will start immediately and will focus on 2007 financial advice service campaigns.

The building society had previously split duties between Joshua, which focused on brand consultancy, and WDMP, which handled day-to-day integrated campaigns.

It parted company amicably with Joshua in January and it is believed that WDMP chose not to repitch because it had other financial clients, Coventry Building Society and Egg.

The pitch was conducted by Norwich & Peterborough's head of customer marketing Debbie Mitton, who said: "The team at Hicklin Slade has proved that they understand our business and demonstrated an ability to take a thorough ROI based approach to campaign development."
