Nikon to sponsor Fina world swimming championships

LONDON - Nikon, the photographic brand, is to sponsor the 9th Fina world swimming championships as an official partner of the event.

In addition to a prominent brand presence and promotional activity at the event, Nikon will also be offering services free of charge to professional photographers through the Nikon service depot.

Photographers will be able to talk to Nikon's technical experts, as well as use the depot's facilities to help out with any equipment or camera requirements.

Kaiwai Tang and David Ashdown will be at the pool side as Nikon's official photographers using the FX format Nikon D3 to capture images of the day.

The championships will take place in Manchester for the first time at the MEN Arena between April 9 and 13.

More than 750 swimmers from around the globe will compete for gold in the five-day competition in front of thousands of spectators.

An online will be uploaded at the end of the championship with the best images from the event.

Simon Coleman, general manager of the imaging division at Nikon UK, said: "Nikon UK is very pleased to be associated with such a prestigious event.

"Its global credentials and exciting action will attract a lot of interest from some of the world's best photographers -- so it's only right that we'll be there, championing the world's best camera equipment."
