Newspaper Society recruits Boniface for advertising drive

LONDON - The Newspaper Society has turned to former Fusion Radio and Classic FM sales executive, Gerry Boniface, as it continues its campaign to increase the regional press's share of national advertising revenue.

Boniface, who has been appointed as the Newspaper Society's advertising affairs executive, joins from Fusion Radio, where he was managing director of sales. He previously held positions at Classic FM, where he was a group head, Emap and regional newspaper publisher Newsquest. He will be responsible for targeting national advertisers as part of the society's "Creating New Perspectives" campaign.

The society has also recruited Verity Amos from Havas Advertising's Media Planning Group as market analyst. Her previous clients include Orange, Playtex and Our Price.
