LONDON (Brand Republic) - The Newspaper Society has lost its marketing director Chris Stanley, who is leaving the organisation to head up the UK arm of Danish business-to-business internet job-matching service, MatchWork.
Stanley leaves the NS after nearly six years in the job, having joined in 1995. During his tenure, he was responsible for raising the profile of the regional press. One of his successes was the development of the Creating New Perspectives campaign, which helps national advertisers use the regional press more effectively.
MatchWork is based in Denmark and first launched on the internet in 1997. This was followed by launches in Norway, Sweden, Italy and the UK. By the end of 2002, it aims to be established in 21 countries worldwide.
鈥淚 wish Chris every success in the future. He has contributed enormously to the Newspaper Society鈥檚 overall reputation since he joined us in 1995. He has led NS marketing with professionalism and vision, and has built up an excellent, award-winning team,鈥 NS director David Newell said.
The NS is currently searching for a successor to replace Stanley.
