News Magazines losses widen to £10m

LONDON - News Magazines, the News Corporation-owned publisher of real-life weekly Love It!, made a loss after tax of £10m in its financial year to June 30 2007.

In the previous financial year, the company made a loss of £8.6m on revenues of £4m, during only five months of trading.

Revenues climbed to £12.2m in the 2006/2007 financial year, according to results reported to Companies House.

It spent £5m on advertising and promotion for Love It! and homes monthly Inside Out, which was closed in March 2007 after disappointing sales.

Since the period covered by the results News Magazines has won the contract to produce the UK's biggest customer magazine, Sky Magazine, from its sister company BSkyB.
