News Corp brands tie up with Kia for World Cup promotion

LONDON - News Corporation's media brands are to collaborate with Korean car manufacturer Kia Motors to create a platform for football supporters to follow this summer's FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

As part of the £1.5m deal, News International titles including The Sun, News Of The World, The Times and The Sunday Times, will collaborate with Sky Sports to provide multimedia content for fans.

It is the first time News Corp's brands have worked together to create a sports content platform for a commercial partner.

The website, which can be accessed through URLs www.kiafootball.co.uk and www.fansown.co.uk, features international football news, competitions and a "Terrace Talk" message board for supporters.

Kia has already a signed up to sponsor the 2010 World Cup and was previously a backer of the UEFA European Championships in 2008.
