The automotive lubricants brand, which also sponsored the European Championships in 2008 and is a partner of the forthcoming FIFA World Cup in South Africa, will continue to activate its sponsorship through its Castrol Index game analytics tool.
Castrol uses a "playercam" technology to draw up detailed analysis of the performance of each player throughout the tournament.
On 7 February, when the draw for the Euro 2012 qualifying phase takes place, the brand will also launch ‘Castrol Predictor', a tool that measures team and player performance, to predict which countries will qualify for the final tournament.
Mike Johnson, senior vice-president for lubricants at Castrol, said: "European football is among the strongest in the world, with an appeal that reaches far beyond the continent, so we're delighted to be able to continue our long-term commitment to football with this new association."
In April 2009, Castrol signed former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo as its latest brand ambassador, joining Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger.
Last year, Uefa hired design agency Futurebrand to create a fresh brand positioning for the European Championships, to help distinguish the tournament from its premier club competition, the Uefa Champions League.
