Newcomers transform fourth Power 100 table

LONDON - Ryanair's Michael O'Leary has stormed into Marketing's Power 100 at number five, the highest climber in this year’s list.

More than a quarter of the fourth annual Power 100 are new entries. Among them are London 2012 Olympic bid chairman Barbara Cassani and Ofcom chief executive Stephen Carter.

Unilever co-chairman and chief executive Niall FitzGerald remains the UK's most powerful marketer, ahead of Procter & Gamble's Chris de Lapuente, Tesco's Tim Mason and WPP's Sir Martin Sorrell.

Holding on to the top spot for the fourth consecutive year, FitzGerald not only earns his place for his professional position but also in recognition of his influential stance on issues such as the euro and the Common Agricultural Policy, and his non-executive directorships at Reuters, Merck and Ericsson.
