The Museum of Brands, Packaging and Advertising will open its doors to the public in December. It will feature more than 10,000 consumer products and promotional items.
The venue will showcase posters and innovations for magazines, fashion, design and popular culture including "brand of the month" and "latest brands from around the world".
A time tunnel will take visitors through the Victorian era, the beginnings of radio and television, the war, the Swinging 60s, the punk 70s and right up to modern marketing in the new millennium.
The Museum of Brands, Packaging and Advertising is a registered charity, set up and supported by Pi Global, and the UK's only venue dedicated to the marketing industry, taking four years to develop.
Major sponsors that have come on board to help create the museum include Kellogg's, Cadbury Trebor Basset and Twinings.
Robert Opie, museum director, said: "Our research shows that everyone from brand owners, marketers, creatives and students will find the museum a valuable resource, making it a focal point for ideas and inspiration."
The museum is based in Notting Hill, London and will open from 10am to 6pm Tuesday to Saturday and 11am to 4pm Sunday.
