
Link2staff.com is launching today (26 November) at three shows taking place at Excel London - the Digital Marketing Show, BETT 2014 and ICE 2014.
The company currently has more than 4,500 events staff signed up to its system including hosts and hostesses, models, drivers and artists. It will enable users to sign in when they need staff for events - particularly for exhibition, marketing and sampling industries - set criteria and budgets, and take payment and pay the staff on behalf of the client once the job has been completed.
Thomas told Event: "I decided to launch Link2staff.com because certain sectors of the industry, particularly exhibitions, are budget sensitive, and they might not necessarily have a big budget to use on staffing.
"This service allows companies to create their own budget, and eliminates big agency fees associated with hiring event staff."
She added the idea for Link2staff.com surfaced 18 months ago and Thomas contracted IT software business Arquila to build and code the system within the last seven months.
"We have recruited a team of three coders and two office staff in Coventry to work on the new business," Thomas explained.
Thomas said the business will target the UK market in its first year, with plans to expand into Europe in year two, moving into Spain and Germany.
She added: "In year three we will aim to make Link2staff.com available to the US event industry. The service is currently available internationally, but we are not actively marketing it in locations other than the UK."
