Thomas is the only member of the event industry shortlisted for the award, which is now in its 31st year, and features among lawyers and other female entrepreneurs.
The awards, which are raising funds for Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer, Alzheimer’s Research UK and Vitalise, celebrate the outstanding achievements of women in their own business or organisation.
Having established staffing agency Aesthetics Events in 1996, Thomas now has more than 8,000 staff on her company’s books and has long-term contracts with venues such as Wembley Stadium and Silverstone to supply staff in their corporate areas.
Judy Groves, awards chair, said: "Yet again we have an amazing array of talented, determined and inspirational women from a vast range of industries who have made a huge success of their careers.
"The finalists are superb role models across the business spectrum and we wish them all the best of luck."
The 31st Woman of the Year Awards takes place at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on Friday 11 October.
Previous winners include Dragons’ Den star Hilary Devey and The Apprentice advisor, Karren Brady.
