
Lund's stake in the agency will be managed by a blind trust, a process that enables those moving into a government job from the private sector to keep shares in companies that have the potential to present a conflict of interest with their new role.
DLKW is one of the main COI agencies and works across several government departments. Its COI billings were £14m in 2008, according to Nielsen Media Research.
Lund pledged that he would show no favouritism toward DLKW when it came to making appointments for briefs.
However, he also sought to ensure that his appointment to the government role would not damage the business.
'I have immense regard for this agency and the people in it. I wanted to be sure that my appointment wouldn't result in DLKW suffering,' he said.
A Cabinet spokesman said: 'All civil servants have to abide by the Civil Service Management Code.'
Lund said that his main priorities when he takes up his new position will be digital engagement, joining up the COI across its different disciplines and ensuring accountability.
