Craft Beer Rising will take place on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 February, offering visitors the chance to taste beers from more than 40 breweries, reflecting both established and experimental British brewing.
Highlights will include a Beer Lab sponsored by Heriot-Watt University, renowned for its International Centre for Brewing and Distilling, and food from the capital’s top street food vendors. Acclaimed DJ Norman Jay will headline the music part of the event.
The first day of the show will be reserved for members of the trade, with pubs, bars and off licences being offered free tickets.
Participating breweries already include Bath Ales, Boxsteam, Brentwood, Elephant School, Offbeat, Raw, Thwaites, Traquair House and Vale.
The event has been created by marketing and experiential agency Elastic. Its managing director Daniel Rowntree, who also owns The Old Nun’s Head pub in south east London, said: "Craft beer is soaring in popularity and fast gaining a following in mainstream pubs and bars. There are 7.8 million craft beer drinkers in the UK. They are curious and thirsty for new taste experiences, and Craft Beer Rising aims to create an unmissable weekend."
