The Sunday Times' "60 Best Green Companies in Britain", to be published on Sunday (24 May) will reveal that NatMags, publisher of Cosmopolitan magazine, is ranked the second greenest company in Britain, rising eight places from the previous year.
WPP-owned MediaCom, whose environmental credentials include supplying gro-bags to employees to grow fruit and vegetables from its office balconies, came in ninth in the poll.
Winner of the survey was Forster, a London-based marketing, public relations and design agency, which rewards staff who walk, run or cycle to work with an extra five minutes' holiday for every commute completed.
NatMags' environmental status has been bolstered by schemes such as the dispatch of mobile phones to independent charity Trees for Cities, and housing compost-producing wormeries.
The Sunday Times, working with environmental consultants Bureau Veritas and market research group, Munro Global, devised the poll.
