
The Series, operated by Ultimate Rugby Sevens (UR7s) and endorsed by the Rugby Football Union (RFU), comes weeks after the confirmation of 7s inclusion in the Olympic Games from 2016.

The National 7s Series aims to bring structure and direction to the UK 7s season.
The Series kicks off on 12 June 2010 at RugbyRocks London 7s, a rugby & music festival in Richmond, before moving on to the West Country 7s (Bath 19 June), Manchester 7s (4 July) and Newquay Surf 7s (17 July). The Series plans to expand into Wales and Scotland in coming seasons.
Ten teams will compete to accrue points at each tournament with the UK champion crowned at the conclusion of the four tournaments.
England 7s coach, Ben Ryan said: ‘The announcement of the UK National Series is a huge step forward for Rugby Sevens in the UK. It will give Sevens a stronger platform in this country and give increased opportunities for more players to experience this great sport.'
