Multimap signs deal with Microsoft to boost reach

LONDON - Microsoft and Multimap have joined forces to increase delivery of online mapping and routing services to customers and prospects.

Multimap signs deal with Microsoft to boost reach

In an ongoing partnership, Multimap will integrate and resell Microsoft MapPoint web services with its Storefinder and dealer locator services.

The deal will help boost its product range and reach as it aims to become the dominant provider of mapping services, while Microsoft will be able to integrate Multimap's storefinder and dealer services and experience in its own projects.

Michael Graff, general manager of the MapPoint business unit at Microsoft, said: "Multimap's strong industry expertise and presence in the UK and Europe puts us in a unique position to help businesses throughout Europe realise the full potential of location technology without having to invest in expensive or hard-to-deploy geographic information systems."

Jeff Kelisky, CEO of Multimap, said: "Working with Microsoft gives our customers a greater choice of services and content. And MapPoint's seamless inter-operability with our customers' enterprise IT infrastructure enables us to provide an even higher level of software integration."

The service will target customers in Europe with plans to move into the US and Australia.
