MTV suspends filming as Katona checks in to The Priory

LONDON – MTV has suspended filming on its reality TV series 'Crazy In Love' while its star Kerry Katona enters The Priory to be treated for depression.

The former Atomic Kitten, who is spokesperson for the supermarket Iceland and frequent tabloid newspaper fodder, has been tailed by a camera crew for 'Crazy In Love'.

But today it was revealed that she had admitted herself to The Priory to rest, and MTV said that filming had been put on hold this week but will resume very soon.

MTV's website carries a statement from publicist Max Clifford saying: "Kerry is very exhausted from all the work she's been doing with the TV show and her perfume… she just needs to rest and check that her medication is up to date."

The show is already running, and made a splash with a widely run poster showing a pregnant Katona bound to her husband Mark Croft with a straitjacket.

Katona has made no secret of having being diagnosed with bi-polar disorder, which means she experiences severe mood swings, including periods of deep depression.

Much of the tabloid coverage of Katona concerns her conduct while pregnant. She has admitted to smoking and drinking but her mother-in-law has also made allegations about her being a cocaine user – denied by Katona.
