Viacom-owned MTV Networks will mark the launch of its branded series of events, 'MTV Crashes...' in Glasgow next month, with a performance from rapper Sean Diddy Combs.

The 'MTV Crashes…' events will feature exclusive nights of music performances hosted by MTV and broadcast in 161 countries, as part of MTV’s global Friday night live.

The first event, 'MTV Crashes… Glasgow', will feature a performance from Combs' new collective, Diddy – Dirty Money, on 29 September and aims to enhance Glasgow's reputation as a top-10 global cultural destination.

Kerry Taylor, senior vice-president content and creative, MTV Networks UK and Ireland, said: "This partnership is a great coup. We have been looking to build a long-term, sustainable event franchise and believe we can really achieve that with 'MTV Crashes'.

"Glasgow is the ideal destination for the inaugural gig. The city's legendary venues and thriving music scene, combined with the unprecedented kudos that the MTV brand delivers, will make this a gig to remember."

'MTV Crashes…Glasgow' is a partnership between MTV Networks, Glasgow City Marketing Bureau and EventScotland. MTV Networks declined to comment on the financial details of the arrangement.

The branding and logo design for the event was handled by Fluid, and Beautiful TV mastered the 3D animation.
