MTV Crashes Coventry will take place on 27 May. It is the first time the music experience has been held in the city.
The main event will be followed the next night (28 May) by Club MTV at the same venue. Thousands of heavily-subsidised tickets for both nights will be released on 2 February.
The Crashes event will be broadcast across MTV’s music UK TV channels and supported with on air spots and social media activity. Live promotional activity on the ground has also been planned.
MTV Crashes will also take place in Plymouth later this year. Other live activity planned by the Viacom-owned network include MTV Brand New for 2016, which kicks off with two showcases at the end of January, the Malta-based Isle of MTV and the European Music Awards in Rotterdam.
Jill Offman, managing director of MTV UK, said: "Live music in the UK is on a high right now and as the number one music television network we’re fervent about giving audiences up close and personal access to it, with immersive on-the-ground brand experiences that translate into great on-air content.
"Our Crashes events are always a highlight of the year and consistently generate high levels of digital and social engagement so we can’t wait to get to work on this one and give the people of Coventry a weekend to remember."
