The six-figure deal will mean the Times Online Search the Web toolbar will be MSN branded, and will drive Times Online users to the MSN Search homepage. The placement will be fully integrated into the Times Online site and will run until June 2006.

MSN has also made a number of appointments to its editorial and business development teams, including the promotion of Matt Ball, content manager for MSN money and cars, as head of the whole editorial team; and Nicole Thomas, who moves from the role of senior portal editor to deputy editor of MSN homepage and news.
They are joined by Mike Lok, previously an editor at Yahoo!, who takes the helm for MSN entertainment, lifestyle, health and computing, and Alastair Bruce, who becomes senior editor of the MSN money channel.
