MSF website gives voice to victims of Congo war

LONDON - Personal testimonies from Congolese war refugees are featured on a new website from international medical aid organisation M茅decins Sans Fronti猫res (MSF).

is a blog for those struggling to survive in a region that has become the site of a conflict raging for years, and which sharply intensified at the end of August 2008.

The website also features personal testimonies and daily entries from MSF staff working in the hospitals of the Kivu regions, where the majority of intense fighting has taken place.

MSF invited World Press Photo laureate Cédric Gerbehaye to the region, and his photographs are the basis of a striking video feature that headlines the Condition: Critical website.

MSF has been working in North and South Kivu since 1981, carrying out emergency surgery, running mobile clinics for those who have fled and providing psychological support for those traumatised by their experiences.

Condition: Critical is available in a number of languages including English, French, Dutch, German, Spanish and Italian. It was created by New York-based multimedia production studio .
