Simonseeks.com, which Nixon has been working on for over a year, will feature travel guides written by a community of writers ranging from travel enthusiasts to celebrities and media professionals, and is open to all.
Users are invited to submit reviews and travel guides on any holiday destination, and essentially become an "online travel agent", by making money from passing on their recommendations on where to stay, and who to travel with.
Writers will get paid based on the number of site visitors who click on their travel guides. The more often an article is read, the more the author earns.
Commission will be paid on bookings made with the site's travel partners, which include lastminute.com, ebookers.com, hotels.com, Superbreak, Laterooms and Mr and Mrs Smith, and writers will also take a share of advertising revenue.
All guides uploaded will be vetted by the editorial team to keep the writing at a certain standard.
Nixon's aim for simonseeks.com is for it to become one of the top 10 travel websites in Britain within 12 months of launch.
Nixon said: "Simonseeks.com is a brand new concept which opens up a unique revenue-generating opportunity for travellers.
"It will be distinct from other sites due to the quality, range and relevance of its reviews, as well is its very advanced search option, which is comprehensive and easily customised.
"I am confident this aspirational venture will prove a success and that simonseeks.com will quickly become one of the UK's most popular travel websites."
The Simonseeks.com team includes commercial director Chris Nixon and editorial director Nick Trend, who will also continue in his current role as a commissioning editor and columnist at The Daily Telegraph.
