Mixmag only managed a 0.1% period-on-period increase to 100,336 in this week's ABC figures for the January to June 2002 period. It is down 0.1% year on year.
It has retained its lead over rival Ministry, which dropped 21.7% period on period to 65,030, while IPC Media's Muzik failed to stem its declining circulation despite a redesign earlier in the year.
Muzik was down 11.2% period on period to 36,018, a year-on-year decline of 18.5%, as it suffers without an editor following Conor McNicholas's appointment as editor of NME, IPC's alternative music title.
Mixmag's Craske is said to be working on developing the title's editorial strategy ahead of a new look in the autumn.
He has already started shaping up the Mixmag team. At the time of his appointment he promoted Gavin Herlihy to the post of music editor from news editor, and promoted Paul French to features editor from clubs editor.
At the time he took over the post he said: "There's a lot of talent on the Mixmag team and I'm looking forward to working with them to develop new ideas for the future."
Craske was acting editor of Mixmag for three months before becoming editor. He took over the post when it was left open by Tom Whitwell, who moved over to become deputy editor of The Face soon after Neil Stevenson, also a former Mixmag editor, was appointed editor of the style monthly.
