Mirror raids Guardian and Independent for sales staff

LONDON - Trinity Mirror-owned MGN advertising director Clare Dove has raided rival newspaper groups, Guardian Newspapers and The Independent, for a number of senior roles in her sales team.

From Guardian Newspapers, Chris Forrester, the head of agency sales across The Guardian and Observer, is joining as head of key accounts. Charlie Hands, previously inserts controller, joins as head of inserts.

Keith Yonnish has been hired as head of innovation from The Independent, where he was controller of Independent Solutions.

At the same time, Nigel Birch has been appointed as regional advertisement director. He joins from Hachette Filipacchi, where he was a commercial director.

Dove said: "MGN is now attracting the industry's finest advertising talent, and coupled with a new, simplified structure for the department, this means improved service, better interaction with agencies and a renewed focus on creating value for our clients."
