Traffic to Mirror Group Digital, which includes mirror.co.uk and 3am.co.uk, fell 15.34% to 606,268 in September, the only national newspaper website to suffer a double digit fall on the previous month.
But Mirror Group Network still remains a minnow compared to rival national newspaper websites.
Mail Online remained top dog in September, reporting 4,063,480 average daily users in the month, a fall of 7.74% on August.
Second placed Guardian.co.uk, published by Guardian News & Media, reported an average daily user number of 2,918,571 in September, down 4.59%.
Telegraph.co.uk fell back 7.25% to 1,994,145 on the previous month.
The Independent-owned Independent.co.uk, which plans to revamp its website this week, reported an average daily user number of 606,268, a fall of 15.34% on the previous month.
Year-on-year comparisons proved more positive reading for national newspapers.
Guardian.co.uk was up 44.78% on the year, Mail Online up 44.12%, Independent.co.uk up 21.99%, Mirror Group Digital up 11.58%, and Telegraph.co.uk up 18.65%.
