The title will lift its weekday cover price to £1.20 from Monday (14 November).

The price of the Saturday edition will also be raised 10p from £1.90 to £2, starting this Saturday, (12 November)

The price of The Sunday Telegraph is not being changed and will hold at £2.

A Telegraph Media Group spokesman said: "TMG is pleased to confirm that it is maintaining pro-rata percentage terms with the retail trade."

The rise in the cover price of the weekday issues means that it will be 20p more expensive than quality rivals, The Times and The Independent, each priced at £1.

The Guardian upped its cover price from £1 to £1.20 from Monday 19 September. It also lifted the cover price of its Saturday issue by 20p to £2.10.
