Jonathan Mann has won a competition to produce a jingle promoting Bing, after Microsoft launched a competition for a new star on Google-owned YouTube.

Microsoft wanted to raise the profile of Bing and get people talking about it online. So it launched the competition to find a new jingle, rewarding the winner with vouchers, and keeping the right to feature the jingle in Bing promotions.

Mann's song, 'Bing goes the internet' is one of 202 songs he has posted to YouTube after vowing to upload a new song every single day.

It remains to be seen if and how Microsoft plans to use the jingle in promotions. If it's anything to do with critics, many of whom labelled the jingle 'awful', Mann will turn his attention back to non-commercial activities and Microsoft will pay a professional to come up with something else.
