Microsoft launches Bing app for the iPad

Microsoft has launched its first app for the iPad, for its search engine Bing, following reports of a delay to the roll out of Windows 8.

The app has been optimised for touch, allowing users to browse news, movies, images and local business listings, and trends, using its swipe interface.

Bing already has an app for Apple’s iPhone and iTouch, but the new service has a number of exclusive features, including voice search.

Recent reports claim Microsoft has delayed the launch of its Windows 8 operating system to 2013.

, which is the first device to operate on the Google Android 3.0 operating system designed for tablets.
