Mediaedge:CIA names McLean to head new client services group

LONDON - Mediaedge:CIA, the recently merged media-buying powerhouse, has appointed Andrew McLean as chief client officer for its worldwide client services and solutions group division.

The company, owned by WPP Group, has also named Ron de Pear as managing director of the division. McLean was previously global client services director at the Media Edge, and de Pear was chairman of CIA's international media management division.

McLean joined the Media Edge two years ago from the Walt Disney Corporation. De Pear joined from MindShare 18 months ago.

Mediaedge:CIA also named a management team for the group, comprising Zoja Paskaljevic, CEO of the DaimlerChrysler Media Alliance; David Primmer, managing partner and head of the Colgate Palmolive account; Martin Thomas, managing director of 36T; and Mel Varley, joint director at MediaLab, the company's research and development group.

Charles Courtier, executive chairman of Mediaedge:CIA Worldwide, said: "The worldwide client services and solutions group will provide a dedicated service to our global, international and regional clients, whose combined businesses account for around half of our total worldwide billings."
