The online version certainly meets the high standards its print cousin has set. The pages are clean, simple and easy to read, and the content is fresh-looking and entertaining. Those expecting hard-hitting interviews and controversial commentary will be disappointed, but most cricket fans don't want that.
I would challenge any fan of the game not to love this. It took about 30 minutes to flick through and, with rain stopping play at Lord's, it filled a hole in my day. However, its success could be its downfall; it might just be too good to deliver against the primary objective of boosting print sales.
The main problem was that there was nothing to persuade me to sign up to the print version. I read the online version, got my cricket fix and got back to work. This is easy to fix, though. Show readers what they are missing by reading only the online version and I'm all theirs.
