MEC Access brings together existing MEC units including MEC Sponsorship, The Leverage Group and Sponsorcom.
The division will have over 350 specialised staff in over 30 locations around the world, offering clients a one-stop shop for strategy and sponsorship across nine different platforms: arts, brand-to-brand, broadcast, cause, celebrity, film, gaming, music and sport.
MEC’s global chief executive, Charles Courtier, said there was an increasing demand from clients for a unified sport, entertainment and cause capability. The Americas will be headed by Richard Yaffa, based in New York; Europe, Middle East and Africa will be led by Jeremy Clark, based in London; and Asia-Pacific will be headed up by an external hire to be announced shortly, based in Singapore.
MEC Access clients include Citi, Colgate Palmolive, DHL, Energizer, Sony Ericsson, TomTom, Visa and Xerox.
